Romanian AC/DC Fans Conned
April 20, 2009Croatian Times reports that more than 8,000 AC/DC fans have been conned in a ticket scam on the band's world tour.
Organizers raked in 300,000 GBP (approximately $437,000) in ticket sales for a bogus show in Bucharest, Romania, next month before the con was rumbled.
If they'd managed to sell all the tickets, organizers would have walked off with millions, local media reported.
It was only when the Anglo-Australian rockers posted a warning on their official web site that the scam was revealed.
Organizers have apparently fled to Israel and their company is no longer trading.
